T.C. Brownell letter, 1837 Feb. 20.

T.C. Brownell, a Hartford, Conn., resident wintering in New Orleans, writes to Rev. Charles J. Todd, an Episcopal minister in Logansport, Ind., informing him of Episcopal parishes in Connecticut in need of ministers. He also describes Episcopal Church affairs in New Orleans, including the sale of pews in the second Christ Church building, the invitation to Rev. Nathaniel Sheldon Wheaton to become the new rector, and the organization of St. Paul's Episcopal Church under Rev. John Thomas Wheat.
